The church was consecrated on 12th September 1993. On the roof there is a cross with a circle in the Celtic fashion, traditionally known as the sun cross. This can remind us of the death that led to an inner sunrise for humanity. The paintings behind the altars indicate the One “who is with you always until the end of the age” rising out of the earthly grave as the true heart of the Gospel. The painting in the church is by Anne Stockton.
The Chapel of Rest was added as part of a major extension to the building in 2003. The consecration of the Chapel of Rest took place on Michaelmas Day, 29th September 2003. The altar picture is by Ninetta Sombart. Udo Zembok created the stained glass window.
